That’s right, TBS will create three original specials form events that take place at the Very Funny Festival. According to Turner, the specials will debut on TBS in June.

The is the first Just for Laughs Festival taking place in the US. Organizers plan on having the event continue as an annual tradition. It is made possible by a new annual partnership that brings together TBS and Montreal’s “Just for Laughs.” According to organizers, “TBS Presents a “Very Funny” Festival: Just for Laughs:” promises to be a landmark event for Chicago, which is home to a rich comedy heritage that includes an abundance of improv and sketch troupes and some of the most familiar names in the business.” More than 70 shows are planned to go down at different venues all over the Chicagoland area. The most special Just for Laughs comedy shows will be hosted at some of Chicago’s most renowned venues, including the The Chicago Theatre and the Rosemont Theatre.

The Just for Laughs comedy Festival will also feature “The Nasty Show [tickets],” a long-time favorite from the Montreal Just for Laughs Festival. The Nasty Show will be taped at the Vic Theatre. According to the Turner News (TBS parent) press release, the Nasty Show will be a “collection of cutting-edge talent at the Lakeshore Theater; and homegrown performances featuring the best local Chicago comedians, sketch and improv performers and troupes at such venues as iO Theater, The Lincoln Lodge, The Playground Theater and Annoyance Theater.” There will also be four nights of comedy featuring some of the best Chicago-area comedians at the “Gene Siskel Film Center of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.”
